The Lemonstays Way
-
Character over corporate, always.
Carefully selected, independent first, and always good value.
-
Design without the price tag
Independent, design-led and chosen on purpose.
-
Independent first
If it’s here, it’s because it feels thoughtful, well run and fairly priced.
-
Small collection
We only include stays we would genuinely recommend to friends.
The Owners
The owners, Michelle & Adrian live on the upper level of the home, where they work and spend time with their friendly dog and teenage son. They provide guests with a memorable and worry-free stay, complete with all the comforts of home and the personal touches that make a visit truly special.
Why we love it
-The small details: The hosts have thought of everything, a welcome hamper full of goodies, an equipped kitchenette for light cooking, quality mattresses, cosy blankets, beach gear, local maps and thoughtful recommendations, all the touches that make it feel homely.
-Great communication: Clear directions, seamless check-in and check-out, and quick, helpful replies from Michelle whenever we needed anything.
-Location: Just a few minutes’ walk to the beach and the centre of town, with plenty of cafés, restaurants and lovely boutique home stores nearby. Boston is also easily reached via the local train station.
The Setting
Marblehead is classic coastal New England, winding streets, historic Colonials, and bobbing sailboats. Old Town is full of character, with independent cafes, seafood spots and small boutiques tucked between centuries-old homes. The harbour, beaches and walking trails are within easy reach. It's the perfect place to relax.
When you’re ready for a change of pace, Boston is an easy train ride away. Spend the day exploring its museums, restaurants and neighbourhoods, or even a ice hockey or baseball game. It’s the best of both worlds, seaside charm with city access.

Our Notes (tips)
Morning ritual:
Farine Artisanal French Bread was our daily stop for coffee and pastries. You'll often hear locals practising their French while ordering.
Beach walks:
Fort Beach is just a few minutes walk away and perfect for a coastal stroll, with Fort Sewall perched above the harbour. Devereux Beach is also worth the short drive for a wider stretch of sand.
Where to eat:
For seafood and relaxed dinners, try The Barnacle, Little Harbor Lobster Company, The Landing, Maddie’s Sail Loft or Sea Salt.
Homeware heaven:
Leave time to browse the independent home stores - Maison de Mer and Liberty Henry & Me.
Boston day trip:
Take the train from nearby Swampscott into Boston for the day. We caught a Boston Bruins game (epic), had lunch in the North End at Tony & Elaine’s, wandered the Public Garden and ended the evening in the South End at The Beehive with live blues.
Getting around:
Uber works well locally, so you don’t need a car for everything.
